When I hear people suggest that we “listen to our inner wisdom”, but they don’t offer any practical tips on how to do that… sometimes I wanna scream! I mean it’s the best advice you can give, but it’s nearly impossible to follow unless you know how. There are no intuition building courses taught in school. Society certainly doesn’t teach us to make decisions with our heart. So how exactly are we supposed to listen to our inner wisdom?

Our bodies are the key. Your body speaks your mind. It’s a fact that rules the world, and you can tap into its power just by being aware.

Actually, Body-Mind is a far more accurate description, because the physical body is intimately tied to your mental and emotional systems. Knowing that gives you an incredible advantage.

How To Read Your Body’s Signs in 5 Steps

  1. Embrace the fact that your body and mind are intimately and permanently connected. Accept that beneath every little thing your body does lies a symbolic message that can help you win at life.

  2. Choose to be patient with yourself and to accept whatever answers you get. There is no hard work or wrong answers here. Just noticing what is and receiving deeper information about it.

  3. Be present throughout the day and notice all the physical sensations in your body. Tight muscles, headaches, muscle twitches, hot flashes, dizziness, cramps, pains, and even pleasurable sensations all hold messages for you. Let yourself notice them.

  4. 1st Level Interpretation: Using your mind to find the surface level physical cause. When you notice a physical feeling, look at what you are doing and what’s going on around you to find the correlation. Let the simplest answer jump out at you. If you take a bite of your lunch and feel a painful sensation, your body might be guiding you to new food choices.

  5. 2nd Level Interpretation: Using your intuition to find deeper meaning through symbolism. This is where you will mine the most gold! It takes practice and patience, but it is 110% worth it. Take a moment to get centered by focusing on your breath, and drawing your attention further inward. After a few slow, deep breaths, ask your body “What does that sensation mean for me right now?”. Relax and just notice what thoughts and feelings come to you. The answers you receive may be symbolic or straightforward and literal. And since life is a process, the wisdom you receive will grow over time and even more insight will be revealed to you. Be patient and enjoy the journey.
